Volunteer at the Australian Pro – Adaptive Surfing Championships

The Australian Pro – Adaptive Surfing Championships is an inspiring event, showcasing the strength and determination of athletes in adaptive surfing. Set against the stunning backdrop of Lawson Street Beachfront in Byron Bay, this event brings together surfers of all abilities to compete, celebrate, and inspire.
We need YOU to help make this event a success! As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting athletes and ensuring a smooth experience for everyone involved.

Sunday 23rd March – Street Parade & Opening Ceremony
Monday 24th March – Australian Parasurf Championships
Tuesday 25th March – Australian Parasurf Championships
Wednesday 26th March – Australian Pro Event
Thursday 27th March – Australian Pro Event
Friday 28th March – Australian Pro Event
Saturday 29th March – Australian Pro Event
Sunday 30th March – Finals Day & Presentation
Volunteer Opportunities
We offer a variety of volunteer roles, allowing you to contribute in a way that best aligns with your skills and interests. Volunteer roles include:
1. In-Water Support
Assist athletes directly in the water by swimming or wading to help them get back onto their boards if they wipe out during their heats. Volunteers with a Bronze Medallion (minimum) are preferred, and required for some divisions.
2. On the Beach
Support athletes as they navigate the beach, help with transferring in and out of beach wheelchairs, and assist with board transitions on the shore break. This role is crucial for ensuring athletes are comfortable and able to perform at their best.
3. Event Site
Contribute to the event’s smooth operation by assisting with set-up and pack-down, managing food stalls, supporting athlete needs, and handling general logistics on-site. This is a great way to get involved and see the event from behind the scenes!
